“I was managing Kona Boy's Kayaks in the early 90's,when I realized that I had more to offer visitors than the normal kayak experience that these Haole boy's from Cali were offering.

So i took my talents and began researching loans for native Hawaiian's. I received a loan from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs Native Hawaiian Revolving Loan Fund and in 1997 I opened my door to my business.

At the time there were only 2 shops on the hill above Kealakekua Bay myself and Kona Boy's, over the years competition has risen and businesses have changed hands, but we are still here under original ownership!

My love and respect for the ocean and the ”Big Island” drove me to start my venture in this industry nearly two decades ago. I hope to do this with my grandchildren as they lead your children around our waters. i love this life, i hope to guide visitors and residents of the big island till i am to old to do it.

With education as our tool, and preservation as our mission let me and my staff show you a unique kayaking experience at one of the local bays here on the Island.”

A common question that i get is: What makes Aloha Kayak Company different from our competitors? Besides the awesome attitude and personalities of my family and staff at Aloha Kayak Co. the difference between Aloha Kayak Co. and our competitors,is education and pride!!!

"As a legally operating(watch for illegal kayak bootleggers See: home page for more details) native Hawaiian business we take pride in educating our customers not only on the safety and fun of kayaking and snorkeling the Big Island and the gorgeous areas that it has to offer. We also take time to explain the historical and cultural aspects of each area and its importance to the Hawaiian people as we kayak Big Island . We try to have you envision these areas as they were back then ,not the way it is today. I feel that my staff and i can will educate you and share the knowledge of these areas to leave with a deeper understanding and respect for these fragile areas we call home!" Also we are permitted by the State of Hawaii to operate tours since 1998 and if that is'nt enough then go to our reviews page to see what other visitors have said.
